Summary
- The Federalist believes in gun control.
- They say that abortion is murder, but don't think it should be punished, and thinks the pro-life movement is about empowering women.
Introduction
The Federalist is often cited as a "right-wing" website. According to their co-founder, Ben Domenech, they claim they're "[leaning] to the political right, with a small-c conservatism."We'll show you some examples of how they're really just subverting their readers into accepting liberal policies and beliefs.
This article will be updated as more articles are discovered or added to their website.
Support for Gun Control
The Federalist suggests that NRA members are willing to come to the table for even more gun control if only the gun control crowd would just treat them with respect. America's already surrendered many of their RKBA freedoms to gun control laws, but The Federalist believes we can go even further than that if we just treat NRA members nicely. In this article, they clearly state their support for gun control, advocating for a prohibited persons list, and expanding the Brady NICS database via FixNICS.
This all goes back to the theme that they're mentally desensitizing their readers, people who normally believe in the Second Amendment, to the idea of gun control.
Liberal Stance on Abortions
They say that women shouldn't face punishment for aborting their children and that the Pro-Life movement is about "empowering women". They claim that "Yes, abortion is murder," but go on to treat the unborn as second-class citizens by stating they should receive no justice because women "shouldn't be punished" for murdering their children. So it's okay to kill your child, so long as a woman does it and the child is inside of the womb? The Pro-Life movement is about recognizing the right to life and not treating the unborn as second class citizens. If we come off as mean-spirited, it's because:
- we believe that murdering your child is never acceptable, whether they're in the womb or outside the womb.
- if there is no punishment for the crime, there's no incentive to not commit the crime.
